We graze our Angus-Wagyu Cross steers year-round on pasture filled with nutrient-dense and diverse grass varieties. They generally rotate each morning to fresh fields, enjoying the nourishing elements of the outdoors rain or shine.
By selecting to cross the Angus and Wagyu breeds, we offer a more premium beef than traditional Angus beef ranches. The Wagyu breed enhances the flavor of Angus beef, lending it deep marbling of healthy fats.
Our grass-fed, grass-finished beef is abundant in essential vitamins and nutrients, including vitamin E, Vitamin B12 and B6, Selenium, Iron, Zinc, and Antioxidants. Studies have shown that grass-fed beef has significantly lower levels of saturated fat than grain-fed commercial beef. The lower levels of fat content in grass-fed beef have even been compared to healthy skinless chicken. Unsaturated fat from grass-fed beef has been proven to reduce the risk of heart disease, unlike the high levels of saturated fat in grain-fed beef.
Our cattle are some of the stars of regenerative farming. They are among the first animals we introduce to the environment, stimulating plant growth by grazing on the grasses and producing rich manure to enhance the soil. We generally only graze our steers a single day in each paddock before rotating them to fresh pastures in order to maximize the positive impact of their grazing, without distressing the grasses and causing patches of bare soil.
This activity attracts flies and other insects, providing a nutritious feast for our chickens, which follow our cattle with a three day delay. The chickens help spread the manure and eat fly larvae, which in turn helps keep the cows more comfortable by reducing irritation from the flies.
